New Heights Rock Gym |
overnight at new heights no way?!?...Way!!! all scouts welcome boys and girls
It's kinda-like camping...sleeping bags needed but no tents. Is it kinda-like climbing? Dude it's New Heights.
All groups over twelve years of age will learn the basics in climbing safety: proper fitting of a harness, basic knots, and belaying skills. Groups that are not yet interested in the merit badge will have a longer time to climb. For those groups earning a merit badge, the scouts need to possess all the basic knot tying skills listed in the scouting climbing merit badge booklet, have their CPR and First Aid certifications. Groups earning the merit badge will not have as much time to climb but get to rappel. Younger scouts can still enjoy this overnight stay, but we will curtail the safety training to: fitting a harness and several climbing knots.
Alex Points, Eagle Scout Troop 26 " There is something about climbing...that pushes your limits...teaches you about yourself...links people together and it's just flat out addicting."
These events book up fast, so plan early.
